Helium-3 may be the new Spice and the real reason we are going back to the moon. It's apparently the perfect fuel for a fussion reactor. And with an estimated 1 million tons, and only a scarce amount on earth, the moon could become the new Arrakis (pronounced Iraq-U.S.). With a single payload of 25 tons, Helium-3 could power the U.S. for an entire year pollution free and close to radioactive free. (via Metafilter)
